Got any plans for the last week in April? 2017 that is. No? Ok, add the Barbados Reggae Festival to your calendar.
The Barbados Reggae Festival is a series of events over a few days that includes the Reggae Beach Party and Reggae Party Cruise for the water and boat lovers, the Vintage Reggae Show for those who want to take it way back, the Bajan Reggae Night for some local flavor, and the day long event Reggae On The Hill which for some people is the highlight of the series.
One of the top music festivals on the island, the Barbados Reggae Festival attracts local, regional, and international entertainers and reggae lovers. Patrons travel from around the world for these events to join in the celebration of reggae music and Caribbean culture.
Outside of Jamaica, the BRF is considered to be one of the top reggae events with past headliners including Buju Banton, Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Shaggy, Luciano, Capleton, and Anthony B.
Reggae On The Hill, held on Farley Hill National Park, is the most popular event of the series. We were fortunate enough to seize some last minute tickets for this event a couple months ago. The energy of the crowd was moving. Easy to navigate, great views, and ample shade, we enjoyed every melodious minute of it.
The 2016 lineup found us rocking and singing along to Chronixx, Richie Spice, Romain Virgo, Alaine, Freddie McGregor, and an MC that gave the crowd life during the short breaks.
So, add this to your list, maybe you will see us there!
